Rooms: Accommodation Choices
Palm Grove provides lodging from studio to three-bedroom layouts, in both garden and beachfront settings. Garden Studio bungalows are situated around the swimming pool, in amongst flowering foliage, and include tiled floors and bamboo-ply ceilings. Beachfront Studios feature ocean views from a private balcony, hardwood floors, and bamboo-ply walls; these cater to a maximum of 2 adults and do not accommodate children under 6. The One Bedroom Superior bungalows are in the garden area, facing the mountainous interior of southern Rarotonga, and feature tiled floors and bamboo-ply ceilings. The Two and Three Bedroom houses have private yards, covered patios, and BBQs. The Beach Villa is a two-story beachfront house with a private yard, covered deck, BBQ, a master bedroom with ensuite and balcony upstairs, and two bedrooms, another bathroom, full kitchen, dining area, and lounge area downstairs. All bungalows offer UV-filtered tap water. Onsite, there are also motorbikes available for rental.
Dining: The Yellow Hibiscus
The Yellow Hibiscus, the onsite restaurant and bar, is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and features Pacific cuisine. A tropical breakfast buffet is included in room rates, featuring 3 types of toast, 4-5 types of fruit, 4-5 types of cereal, banana bread, lemon bread, homemade yogurt, hard boiled eggs, 3 types of juice, coffee, teas, milk, and a variety of jams/spreads. Cooked breakfast options are available at an additional cost. Dinner is served a la carte Monday to Saturday from 6pm to 9pm, and a BBQ is available on Sunday evenings with a choice of steak or fish. Live music is featured on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. There is also a covered guest BBQ area. Ukulele Bar venue provides full restaurant menu and bar seating.
Activities: Island Exploration
Palm Grove provides complimentary snorkel equipment and kayaks. Motorbikes are available for rent onsite. The property is near the island's lagoon, suitable for swimming, snorkelling, and kayaking. Palm Grove can arrange airport transfers for $20 NZD per person each way. The Sunset Feast and Show at Highland Paradise Cultural Centre offers local food, music, and dancing (Monday and Wednesday evenings), with transfers included in the price (NZ$145 per person, ages 5-11 NZ$75 per person). The Koka Lagoon Cruise includes snorkeling and fish feeding (NZ$105 per person, ages 6-12 $75 per person), with transfers available for an extra NZ$12 per person (ages 6-12 $6 per person). Ariki Adventures Turtle Safari includes use of Sea Scooters, for confident swimmers with previous snorkel experience only, and no children under age 12 (NZ$185 per person).
Location: Vaimaanga Village
Palm Grove is in Vaimaanga on Rarotonga's southern coast, 15 km from Rarotonga International Airport. The lagoon is at its widest and deepest on the southern coast. Several cafes and restaurants are within walking distance. A bus stop is located at the property, with buses stopping every 30 minutes during the day and every hour during the evening. Stores in Avarua are open Monday to Friday.

Palm Grove offers guests the option of prebooking a guaranteed early checkin or late checkout. The property includes daily housekeeping service. A Vodafone Hotspot is located at Palm Grove and reaches the common garden areas, with prepaid vouchers available for purchase. If you want a vehicle for part of your stay, Island Car & Bike Hire will come and pick you up from Palm Grove for no charge, and drop you back to Palm Grove upon the completion of your rental. Taxis must be booked in advance and charges are per person, and are recommended only as a last resort.
