Guests can view grasslands, forests, and lands irrigated by the Periyar river, Cumbam Valley, Mangaladevi, Kumarikulam, Periyar Fort, and Palani hills. Other activities include bullock cart rides through farmland, vineyards, jasmine gardens, temples, coconut groves, and riverside trails to Gudalur village, a three-hour night trek to observe wildlife like civets and flying squirrels in the Thekkady forest, and spice plantation visits. A short elephant excursion into Periyar forest is also available, accompanied by a 'mahout' and guide. Guests can view coffee, cardamom, and tea plantations and tribal hamlets. Endangered species, including the Nilgiri Tahr and lion-tailed macaque, are often sighted near Gavi. Thekkady also preserves spices like cardamom, pepper, and cinnamon.
