“The building's 19th-century Neo-Renaissance architecture, designed by Alexandre Vallaury, certainly makes a statement, and its location is convenient to Istiklal Avenue and Galata Tower. However, potential guests should be aware of reports of construction noise and maintenance issues that might detract from an otherwise appealing boutique experience. While the concept aims for cultural immersion with antique decor, a stay may not meet expectations of comfort and modern luxury.”
