Rooms with Asian Touches

Gaige House + Ryokan, part of the Four Sisters Inns, features 23 rooms, including nine Ryokan Zen Suites in the back. All rooms include premium bedding, air conditioning, free WiFi, and safes. Rooms feature a contemporary style with Asian touches, such as shoji doors, bamboo furniture, and Far Eastern artwork. Select rooms feature a private patio with creek views. Each spacious room has a private entrance. Studios include a fireplace, air conditioning, a private entrance, and a terrace with garden views. Amenities range from flat-screen cable TVs and iPod docking stations to kitchenettes with cookware, tea, and coffee makers. Bathrooms feature free toiletries and bathrobes; some have a bath, shower, hairdryer, soaking tubs, and 2-person showers. Some rooms include garden, pool, or river views.

Breakfast and Creek Views

Mornings at the Gaige House start with a breakfast buffet that includes muffins, scones, fruit, yogurt, and granola. Hot options, such as oatmeal banana pancakes and quiche loaded with cheese and broccoli are available. Breakfast is in the main house's dining room, which opens to a patio that has covered seating overlooking the woodsy yard. Also included is an early evening wine and cheese reception in the living room each day.

Grounds and Relaxation

Gaige House + Ryokan is on a secluded stretch of Calabazas Creek, and includes an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. There are two fire pits: one off the Main House's back deck and one near Calabazas Creek. The grounds along the Calabaza Creek includes a hammock shaded with ancient oaks, a miniature pagoda in a rock garden, and a fountain. The yard features a wide wooden deck with a hammock and a picnic table under a large oak tree. The woodsy backyard borders a creek with decks and patios. Guests can use the meditation room. Spa treatments are available in a spa loft, in-room, or outdoors in a private cabana.

The Gaige House is in Glen Ellen, in Sonoma Valley, a few minutes from Highway 12. Sonoma Valley Regional Park is 1.5 km away. Benziger Family Winery, Quarryhill Botanical Garden, and Sculpturesite Gallery are also 1.5 km away.
