Rooms: choices and views
Fumba Beach Lodge, a small-scale resort, has 26 en-suite rooms. Twenty deluxe 'bandas' offer private terraces with ocean or garden views and are suitable for families or couples. Four Luxury Suites feature king size beds, ensuite bathrooms with a bath, his & hers wash basin and an outside shower, private decks with hammocks, direct beach access, and private roof terraces. Two Baobab Suites, also known as Honeymoon Suites, are cradled around a 900-year-old baobab tree with complete bathrooms open to the elements and direct beach access. All rooms include tea/coffee facilities, mini fridges, mosquito nets, room safes, in-room libraries, luggage storage, desks, fans, top-quality bed linen, laundry service, hair dryers, and make up mirrors.

The lodge features a large open-sided lounge/bar/dining room that overlooks a pool surrounded by Zanzibari beds and hammocks. Dinner consists of a three-course menu, which usually features local fish prepared in a European style with a Zanzibari twist. The restaurant uses ingredients grown under the African sun, such as fresh herbs, lemongrass, ginger, garlic, cauliflower, eggplant, zucchini, carrots, mangos, bananas, coconuts, jackfruits, passion fruit, and oranges. Fishermen catch tunas, snappers, barracudas, lobsters, prawns, and crabs. Meal plans include Bed & Breakfast, Half Board (accommodation, breakfast, and dinner), and Full Board (accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Guests can enjoy picnic lunches accompanied by a bottle of light crispy wine.
Leisure: Reef and Relaxation
Fumba Beach Lodge provides a watersport center for guest use, offering PADI Diving Courses and kayak rentals. Guests can spoil themselves in the Baobab Spa, nestled between landscapes and protected by a baobab tree and offering massages, body scrubs, facials, and pedicures. A whirlpool tub is available in a baobab tree. The lodge has a football team that plays friendly games with villagers. A private spa evening includes a couples massage and Jacuzzi session with sparkling wine. The surrounding sea offers coral formations and reef fish. Ukombe Reef is 8km in length, with the top of the reef 3 to 5 metres below the surface.

Fumba Beach Lodge is in the Menai Bay Conservation Area, 14 miles south of Stone Town and 20 km from Kisauni. The lodge is on the Fumba Beach peninsula, in a marine haven and eco-project designated an area of outstanding natural beauty since 1998 by the World Wild Life Federation. The lodge is 30 minutes from Zanzibar's historic capital, Stone Town. Nearby landmarks include Blue Safari, 0.5 km away. The island has lush vegetation, making it a habitat for island and sea birds. The lodge is an ideal starting point for excursions and day trips.
Services: Lodge and Social
The lodge provides support to schools, small business plans, well-being, employing villagers, and in-house training. Guests can ask at reception to be accompanied by a staff member to experience the local culture and daily life. The lodge offers guided tours, including visits to Stone Town, Jozani Forest, Spice Tour, and Prison Island. Wedding ceremonies take place on a deck or on the beach overlooking Menai Bay, under a palm leave arch with flowers from Fumba's garden.
