Leisure and Activities
Guests at Fernwood Resort have direct access to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and the Big Sur River for swimming. Buzzard's Roost Trail, accessible from the resort, offers views of the coastline. Five State Parks, a State Reserve, and Los Padres National Forest each have unique hiking trails. Other activities include beach hiking, redwood canyon hikes, and river hiking. Fernwood also hosts yoga classes near redwood trees.
Location and Access
Fernwood Resort is in the middle of the Big Sur Valley, 55 km from Monterey Peninsula. It borders Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and offers direct access to hiking trails. The entrance to the Old Coast Road for mountain biking is directly across Highway 1 from Andrew Molera State Park. Garrapata State Park is between Andrew Molera State Park to the south and Point Lobos State Reserve to the north. Point Sur Lighthouse is about 7 miles north.
