Consolación, located in one of the most beautiful and undiscovered regions of Spain, the Matarraña, offers essential rooms where nature is an integral part. The cube rooms are the genesis of the hotel. The two new rooms ER1 and ER2 in the hermit's house play with lights, shadows and textures and are completely different from cubes. The baroque room features 46m2 of colors and fabrics inspired by the 19th Century. It includes a lounge area with an open fire and two windows with patio views. The room is equipped with a 160 cm bed. Some rooms come with features like modular 160 cm tatami beds expandable to 220cm, or sunken bathtubs.

The restaurant, in a former barn, presents a blend of modern and regional dishes, using fresh local produce. Menu options include roasted onions on mashed potatoes with truffle and artisan cheese (can be made without cheese), 'Sopa bullida' with grilled squid and slow-cooked egg, marinated salmon with vegetable hash and puffed buckwheat, and mushroom cream with grilled seasonal wild mushrooms. Two desserts include 'amandine' cake and nougat ice-cream. You can enjoy regional produce with dishes like Rafales organic vegetables, lamb with DO 'Lamb from Aragon' Torrecilla de Alcaniz, truffle Monroyo, DO Teruel Ham, cheese Shepherd Penyarroya of Tastavins . Consolación provides breakfast with natural orange juice, fruits, eggs and cereals and local cuisine. Also available are picnic options and wine-tasting sessions.
Leisure and spaces
Consolación has gardens with an outdoor pool offering views of the pine forest. A secret stairway behind the swimming pool leads to terraces for relaxation. Other spaces include a library with an antique Chester sofa and open fire. Guests can visit the hermitage, with a large dome, and see the fresco by Felipe Pellicer. There is also a playground and a garage dominated by an iron chimney. Guests can explore the Matarraña region with cycling and hiking routes. Also one can visit the winery Venta D'Aubert, and taste an organic wine of a small production accompanied by an organic oil where you can dip bread.

Consolación is 95 km from Castellon-Costa Azahar. Consolación is near the small village of 'Montoro de Mezquita' and the rock formations of the 'Órganos de Montoro'. Guests can start the GR 8 which links with the Catalan GR 7 in Los Puertos de Beceite. The GR 8 route forms part of the European E 7 path that goes from the Black Sea to Lisbon. Medieval history fans can visit sites related to the Templars and the Order of Calatrava. The hotel is located near the hermitage in Monroyo, with street parties every Easter Monday.
