Cliff at Lyons has 32 rooms, apartments, and cottages, each with individual design and natural light. Accommodations include high-quality Egyptian cotton bed linen, a 40-inch flatscreen satellite TV, daily maid service, bathrobes and slippers, a Nespresso machine, an electronic safe, an iron and ironing board, complimentary water, and underfloor heating. Estate Rooms (27sq m to 38sq m) are in the Mayors building and Jolly Angler, featuring velvet-studded walls and bathrooms with rainfall showers; one has a freestanding bath. Lily Pond Rooms (36sq m to 58sq m) face the water feature, with some on the ground level. Shackleton House, a two-bedroom cottage, has four-poster bedrooms, views of the Grand Canal and Dove Square, a private garden, and a spacious living area. Turret's Cottage features a Dutch half-door, a kitchen, a sitting room, and two bedrooms upstairs. Rhode Island cottage includes lily pond views, a formal lounge, and four-poster beds.
Diverse Dining Options
The Mill Restaurant features double-height ceilings, a fireplace, and a terrace beside the mill race and waterfall. The menu includes Roast Rib of Beef, Cherry Valley Duck Breast, and Oven Baked Baby Turbot, with seasonal vegetables, seafood platters, and Whiskey & Orange Ice Cream. The Mill Restaurant is open for midweek lunches from 11pm Wednesday to Friday. The Pantry at CLIFF offers light lunch options from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Wednesday through Sunday, including seasonal soups, sandwiches, and snacks. Chef Jordan Bailey creates a menu using ingredients from Irish suppliers. Aimsir Restaurant offers a Saturday lunch tasting menu. Cliff Chocolates are available from CLIFF Home.
Leisure and Relaxation
The Well in the Garden is an award-winning spa in the restored Carriage House. Guests can access the Village Thermal, featuring hot tubs and saunas. The Botanical Breather experience includes a 60-minute private outdoor thermal experience, Prosecco or juice, a fruit plate, and a three-course dinner in the Mill Restaurant, plus an overnight stay with breakfast. The Autumn Copper and Calm package includes a three-course meal at The Mill Restaurant and an Outdoor Copper Bath Experience at The Well in the Garden Spa.
Location & Accessibility
Cliff at Lyons is on the Grand Canal in Kildare, 40 km from Dublin. Landmarks nearby include the Arthur Guinness Statue (4.5 km), Straffan Butterfly Farm (5.5 km), and The Steam Museum & Lodge Park Walled Garden (3.5 km). It occupies a collection of historic village houses, a barracks, a forge, and an old flour mill. The Pantry at Trellis is along Arthur's Way Heritage Trail.
