“This inn struck me as genuinely special, a place where the steak and ale pie isn't just food, but a reason to return, and the staff anticipate your needs before you voice them; its historic charm is deeply comforting. With the priory visible from some rooms, and a roaring fire downstairs, it's easy to relax here; I found it a delightful base for exploring the Lake District. It's the kind of place that elevates a simple getaway into something truly memorable.”

The staff were quite friendly. the food was full of flavor and seemed fresh. i liked how the breakfast chef prepared the scrambled eggs. They were perfect.
I found the room to be tiny. I could barely move around. the toilet made a lot of noise at night, constantly flushing. builders started working right outside my window early in the morning at 7:30.
