The FULL English breakfast was AMAZING!!! It was SO good. The service was friendly and excellent. I also had an evening meal. My son and I had the burger deal and he was blown away with his Korean style burger. He said it was the BEST burger he has ever had and he's 41!
The car park ISN'T the easiest to find. It is down a not TOO obvious road to the left of the hotel. Down that road another left then down a narrow road to the rear of the hotel. I found it with the help of staff on the phone. I mentioned an early start, and they kindly offered a packup. Unfortunately, this was given that day with no where to refrigerate it overnight.

the location is very central. the staff greeted me with a warm welcome and were very helpful with local information. breakfast was lovely, with a great choice on offer and good hospitality. the food was AMAZING!!!
the floorboards creaked quite a lot, but it was a very minor issue.

the beer garden was lovely and peaceful. it featured both smoking and non smoking areas. fairy lights added a magical feel as it got darker, so i spent my evening there!!!

the hotel had an excellent location in the centre of town, so it was easy to get around. the proper pub was also much better than a hotel bar. the location was ideal!!!

The food in the restaurant was delicious! Breakfast was included. It. Yorkshire Tea bags were in the room! I appreciated that detail.
The parking location was difficult to find. You have to go down a road to the left of the hotel, then another left, then down a narrow road to the rear of the hotel.

Acceptable stay with some ISSUES
grubby kettleloose hook
The cleaning standards need improvement. I saw some obvious issues in the room. The kettle looked grubby from prior use. I also noted splashes on the bathroom wall. The curtain tie-back hook detached from the wall. I left it for repair, but it was reattached to the loose hole, failing again. I suggest the owner examines each room from a guest's viewpoint to address these shortcomings.

The hotel offered convenient private parking. I found the breakfast choices plentiful and satisfying. The building displays a lot of character, with historical features well maintained.
The wifi signal was weak in certain areas of the room.

Parking was easy. It offered designated spaces , right near the entrance. The breakfast room was spacious, with well-spaced tables and a buffet area. There was an adjacent bar area.

My room included blackout curtains that WORKED! The bed had clean, crisp linens. There were several power outlets near the desk for charging electronics. This was very useful.

The bathroom was dusty, a detail i noticed right away. the toilet wasn't clean either. the seat felt quite loose. A real letdown, though the breakfast was good. refilling the kettle proved tricky because it was too big for the sink, and a light wasn't working

traditional lookkitchen aromasmall room
staff was friendly and the pub had a traditional look, thats good.
the room really needed an update and smelled a bit like the kitchen. it was also rather small for a double room. the price didn't match the quality.
