Apu Lodge, Ollantaytambo
About the Hotel
Rooms and views
Apu Lodge, located at the base of Apu Pinkuylluna in Ollantaytambo, offers rooms with regional decor, exposed stones, and tapestries. Rooms feature parquet floors and private bathrooms, with free toiletries and hot water available 24/7. Guests can select rooms with views of the garden or Ollantaytambo Ruins. Room options include single rooms with a double bed, matrimonial rooms with a double or queen bed, and twin rooms with a double/queen plus a single bed. Family rooms are available for two adults with one child ($110) or two children ($120). Some rooms provide a high chair for children and outdoor furniture. The adobe brick construction provides insulation, absorbing heat during the day and releasing it at night.
Dining options
Breakfast is served in the dining room or outside. Options include ordering a bowl of fruit, granola, and/or yogurt. Eggs are cooked to order, and orange juice and bread are served to the table. The lodge sources creamy greek yogurt from a nearby organic farm. Fruit is purchased weekly from a truck that travels from the jungle. The restaurant uses fresh, locally purchased ingredients with little to no packaging.

Services
Teas and filtered water are available in the reception area. Staff with front-desk reception training are available 24-hours a day. Local women come on mornings to weave and display products for sale in the garden. Local craftspeople, including potters, a wood carver and cooks, can give workshops. The paintings at the Lodge belong to a local gallery, Aliz Art. The lodge provides free filtered water to reduce plastic bottle use and facilitates plastic bottle recycling. Pricing encourages guests to purchase beer in larger, reusable bottles. All sheets, towels, and laundry are dried outside. All light bulbs are energy saving, and most outside lights are switched off after 9 pm. The in-house staff training includes first aid. Breakfast can be served outside, in your room, or in the dining room.
