Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Aava Whistler Hotel enjoys a great location, putting guests within easy walking distance of the central village with its many restaurants, bars, and grocery stores, as well as the slopes. The rooms are generally considered clean and spacious, equipped with amenities like a microwave, coffee maker, kettle, and fridge; some even offer Mountain Views which are especially rewarding on clear days. A few guests have mentioned minor cleanliness issues in the bathrooms or found the carpets less than perfectly hygienic. Guests also appreciate complimentary in-room Keurig coffee/tea refilled daily and the convenience of Tesla superchargers in the underground parking.

Excellent Location and Helpful Staff

convenient location helpful staff parking fee bathroom cleanliness
The location offers easy access to the village. I found the staff very helpful. The room had good amenities and a fridge. It was necessary to eat out at nearby restaurants because the hotel does not have a restaurant.
The hotel charges extra for parking. I found that unreasonable. The bathroom was not perfectly clean upon arrival. I noticed short hairs scattered on the sink surface.
Dining
8/10
The hotel does not have a restaurant. Nearby, guests can find various dining options. I recommend exploring the local cuisine at the village restaurants.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel features a spa. I found a pool and a whirlpool there. The hotel offers parking at an additional charge.

village center large room well heated hot tub unmotivated staff poor maintenance noisy parking lot
The location is very close to the village center! It is only a few minutes walk. Our room was large too. The outdoor pool and hot tub were well heated, which I appreciated.
The staff were not as motivated as I had hoped. The hotel does not seem well-kept. I think there was a new takeover this year. Our room faced the crowded parking lot. It was noisy there constantly.

ancient weight machine excessive parking fee
the gym was more of a closet. two treadmills barely fit and the weight machine looked ancient. i tried to use the stationary bike, but the seat was broken and wobbled terribly. also, i hate that i needed to pay extra for parking. twenty-five dollars a night felt excessive, especially since the hotel didn't warn me about this fee when i booked my room.

easy access convenient access room cleanliness clean room sound proofing sound issue treadmill absence absent treadmill
The hotel location allowed easy access to the ski lifts. the cleanliness of the room WAS noticeable. The housekeeping staff did a thorough job.
soundproofing was to be an issue, as i could hear conversations through the walls. the gym lacked a treadmill, LIMITING workout options.

Acceptable Stay, But Some Issues Noted

thin walls noisy fridge
The noise insulation proved inadequate. I could hear conversations in adjacent rooms (the walls seemed thin). Footsteps above were also quite audible. The fridge was noisy, though I unplugged it (a minor fix).

great stay near the village

short walk well-equipped room daily housekeeping well trained staff
the location was excellent, a short walk to the village. the room was clean and well-equipped with a microwave, coffee maker, and fridge. housekeeping provided great service daily.. mountain views were visible on clear days. staff members were knowledgeable, offering suggestions for apres-ski and dining.
the walls were thin, and noise from neighboring rooms was audible. i suggest requesting a room on the top floor to minimize disturbance from above.
