Trails End Inn, Keene Valley

Trail's End Inn has rooms to suit various needs and budgets. Options range from small to large rooms with private or shared bathrooms, sleeping porches, and fireplaces. One suite includes a living room, a separate bedroom, and a bathroom with a tub and shower. This suite has a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, and tea- and-coffee-making facilities, along with a barbecue. It features a sofa, flat-screen TV, dining area, and outdoor dining area, with two beds. Some rooms have mountain views. Other rooms include free toiletries, coffee machine, dining area, barbecue and outdoor dining area. One room is equipped with a king-sized bed, stained glass reading light, two-person whirlpool tub with skylight, a separate shower, a wood-burning fireplace, and a queen-size futon. The back windows mirror the original 1902 summer home design.

Breakfast is available each morning from 7:30 A.M. to 9:00 A.M., with complimentary coffee, hot water for tea and hot chocolate, and a variety of oatmeal options with fixings are available. The Inn has partnered with Old Mountain Coffee to provide food and drinks to guests from their cafe near the driveway entrance.

Guests can explore the 31-acre campus. Onsite, a game room and common areas are available. There is a computer with high-speed internet and WIFI access. Visitors can purchase souvenirs, hiking guides, maps, and Adirondack maple syrup. Nearby activities include hiking trails like Giant, Big Slide, Gothics, Dix, and Noonmark Mountain, the Lower Ausable Lake, and Beaver Meadow Falls. Skiers can access Whiteface Mountain, with the longest vertical drop in the East, located twenty minutes away. Lake Placid is 18 miles from the Inn, offering skating, hockey, and ice shows.

Trail's End Inn is located in Keene Valley, New York, in the Adirondack High Peaks area, near Mount Marcy. Nearby landmarks include Beer's Bridge (2 km), Beaver Meadow Falls (5 km), Indian Head (4.5 km), The Garden Trailhead (2.5 km), Snow Mountain (2 km), Hopkins Trail (1 km), The Uplands (1 km), Avalanche Lake (0.5 km), Roaring Brook Falls (5 km), and The Mountaineer (1 km). Amtrak service is available to Westport, with Mountain Taxi providing cab service (518-962-2977).

The Inn features a foyer with a woodstove and seating. The dining room is next to the foyer. A small room adjoins the bedroom, equipped with a desk, chair, and one twin bed. Guests can use the picnic tables or tables in the game room for dining. The school has a playground, sports fields, and an outdoor classroom.
