good stay!

personal note cozy atmosphere culinary delight
i found the personalised note detailing our stay particularly thoughtful. the log burner in the lounge bar created such a cozy atmosphere in the evening. the food was AMAZING!!! every bite was a culinary delight, prepared with clear passion and skill.
during my stay, i noticed the bathroom could benefit from brighter lighting, especially around the vanity area. it made applying makeup a little challenging.

a balanced stay

delicious food lovely staff dirty bathtub broken chair
the food at the hotel's restaurant was delicious. the lamb loin that I had was the best I have ever tasted. the breakfast was also really good with typical scottish fares. staff were lovely.
the bathroom tub was dirty, and I saw many hairs while showering. this made me sick. a room chair seat was broken, and the furniture looked old and scruffy.

underwhelming birthday meal.

pre-made potato salad busy chatting
We visited for a birthday meal on a tuesday evening. the prices suggested fine dining, but the food did not meet expectations, not at all. my mackrel starter was on a bed of pre-made potato salad. The menu didn't mention it was smoked. the servers were too busy chatting and did not ask about our drinks or food quality, which disappointed us and we felt utterly robbed!
