5-star ryokan in Hayakawa holding the Guinness World Record for oldest hot spring inn
Accommodation
The ryokan offers air-conditioned units with tatami mats, a flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with a bidet. Each room includes a fridge, a kettle, and a safety deposit box for guest use. All units provide individual natural hot spring baths supplied directly from the source.
Dining
The on-site dining serves multi-course kaiseki dinners and a daily Asian breakfast in a private dining room assigned to each room. Meals feature locally sourced ingredients, including A5 rank Koshu beef prepared by an award-winning chef. Dinner and breakfast are included in the room rate and emphasize seasonal local dishes.
Wellness
Guests have access to six hot spring baths, including indoor and outdoor options and two private baths that can be reserved per couple. A sauna and a range of public gender-segregated baths rotate schedules for men and women in twelve-hour increments. The hot spring water comes from the same natural source that has flowed since the inn opened in 705.
