Dining at Kaštel
Hotel Kaštel's restaurant features exposed stone walls. The terrace at the Kaštel is the spot to have lunch, dinner, or a drink while watching the sunset over the Mirna Valley. Guests can enjoy dinner on the large terrace in the shade of ancient chestnut trees. Dining on one of the hotel terraces, under a chestnut tree or a centuries-old mulberry tree, is a special experience. The menu includes traditional Istrian cuisine, with truffles and Istrian wines such as Teran and Malvasia. The Istrian platter includes local pršut and cheese infused with black truffles. Good Istrian wines are available, including several from local vineyards Franc Arman, Kozlović, and Tomaz.
Leisure and Wellness
The hotel invites guests to relax in the "Spa with a view," a wellness and spa center built in Istrian style on the top of the hill, with views of the landscape of central Istria, the Mirna river valley, and the Motovun vineyards. Location and Activities
The Hotel Kaštel has a hilltop location in the heart of the old town, next to the main square. Every stone here tells a story that is at least 700 years old. Landmarks nearby include the Ancient City Walls (1.5 km), Golf Course Motovun (1.5 km), Hilltop Walled Ancient City of Motovun (1.5 km), Bell Tower (1.5 km), Atelier Art in Situ (1.5 km), Church of the Virgin Mary (1.5 km), and Ancient Well (1.5 km). Poreč, the closest spot on the Istrian coast with its Unesco-listed Byzantine mosaics and nearby beaches, is a 30-minute drive away. Activities such as hiking/biking trails and mountain biking are available in the area, including the Parenzana biking trail. Pula is 75 km away. Aquapark Istralandia and Aquacolors Porec are area attractions. Porec Marina and Novigrad Harbour are worth checking out.
