Cabins with Views

The Howler Monkey Hotel features bungalows in a wooden chalet style. Guests can choose between five cabins-four cabins sleep two to five people, and a fifth mini cabina sleeps two people. Bungalows include a porch with a hammock, barbecue facilities, free Wi-Fi, and a seating area. All bungalows include a bathroom with a shower and a kitchen with a dining area. A washing machine, private entrance, and tea and coffee maker are provided. Bungalows offer sea, mountain, pool, garden, or landmark views. The bungalows also have a small terrace on the 2nd floor. Some bungalows include a pool with a view, a living room, and an outdoor dining area. Each unit has from 1 to 4 beds.

The Howler Monkey Hotel does not have onsite restaurants. Guests can find a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants or bakery in Cabuya. Cabuya's supermarkets, a bakery, a bar and a few restaurants are within walking distance.

Activities and Nature

The Howler Monkey Hotel provides access to a private beach in Cabuya, next to Costa Rica's Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve. Guests can swim in the large pools fed by the waterfalls. You can often watch howler monkeys, capuchins, iguanas, and a multitude of birds, such as egrets, herons, kingfishers, and ducks. The reef on the extreme tip of Cabuya Island is a spot for snorkeling. Guests can walk along the beach, hike the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve trails (2 km from the Howler Monkey Hotel-the park is open Wednesday to Sunday), or visit Cabuya Island with the Howler Monkey Hotel gear or your own equipment. Guests can often see colorful fish in the rocky tide pools. Interesting tours like canopy tours and horse riding are available.

Location and Access

The Howler Monkey Hotel is set on a private beach in Cabuya, next to Costa Rica's Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve. Cabuya and its neighboring town, Montezuma, are located on the southern Nicoya Peninsula. The new Nueva Megaterminal is located at the corner of Avenida 7 and Calle 10. Guests can drive past the 3 houses on the left. Tambor is 25 km away. Cabuya Island is 1.5 km away.

The Howler Monkey Hotel offers kayaks. Guests can surf the beaches in the area with their own board or hire a local fisherman to take you out in Cabuya, Mal País, or Montezuma from the beach. Ironing facilities are available. AM/FM alarm clocks are provided in rooms.
