Dining: Flavors of Sologne
The hotel has been a cafe and restaurant since 1774. Guests discover Clémence and its tearoom. The restaurant features over 800 bottles of wine, with 250 dedicated to the Loire Valley. Exclusive vintages developed by the winemakers and Chef Didier Clément include the famous 'Silex Lion d'Or' vintage with its Pouilly-Fumés from the vineyards of Didier Dagueneau. The menu includes a sea bass caught by line off the coast of Brittany prepared with fennel, celery stalks, and lemon confit. A selection of Mariage Frères teas, Terres de Café roasted coffee, Sologne elderberry lemonade, and the day's special iced tea are available. Sweet snacks include gingerbread with grains of paradise, 'Cake de la Tante Andrée,' dark chocolate shortbread cookies, and freshly baked Madeleine cakes. Didier Clément's cooking tobacco blend is created like a blend of spices. The aperitif has syrup which should sit for several months before being served. Marie-Christine, Hélène, and Didier Clément welcome you to the heart of the Sologne region and the Loire Valley's famous châteaux. Didier's creations feature a combination of subtle and pronounced flavors.
Leisure and Nature
Guests discover this elegant city manor from the 16th century and its elegant contemporary decor. The hotel is a member of Relais & Châteaux and of the Best Tables of the World. Beaumont Lake is the place to watch nesting birds, grebes, terns, and Eurasian bitterns. Guests who wish to visit contemporary art galleries or the zoological park in Europe can easily do so.

Services and Amenities
The products presented in the store are favorites of the Clément family. All the products in store are Clément family favorites. You'll also find rare Loire Valley grape varieties such as Romorantin, Malbec, Arbois Blanc, Pineau d'Aunis, and grapes from ungrafted vines. A roundtrip airport shuttle, a grocery/convenience store, and a terrace are available. Cocktails made by granddaughter Hélène, an enthusiastic mixed drink maker, are served. The Sologne region has been one of France's main white asparagus production centers since the end of the 19th century. White asparagus jelly with French parsley topped with white asparagus ice cream is available as one of three separate dishes. A spacious balcony offers views over the entire interior courtyard and the Renaissance wing.
“Grand Hotel Du Lion D'Or impressed me with its historical roots as a landmark since 1774, now blending Renaissance charm with modern comforts in Romorantin-Lanthenay; the Michelin-starred dining promises a memorable culinary experience, further enhanced by an extensive wine list featuring regional Loire Valley varieties. While some rooms might be compact, the overall experience aims for excellence as part of the Relais & Châteaux collection, a commitment that usually translates into a delightful stay.”
