Gingerbread Mansion, Ferndale

The Gingerbread Mansion Inn, located 60 km from Arcata-Eureka, is known as one of California's most photographed historic homes. Each room features a distinct theme with antique furnishings. The Empire Suite, on the third floor, includes Corinthian columns, a marble glass shower, two fireplaces, and a California king-sized bed. The Fountain Suite offers a king-size bed, a fireplace, and two claw foot tubs. The Rose Suite has a four-post king-size bed and a claw foot bathtub. The Strawberry Hill Room includes a log-burning fireplace, a Queen sized bed and views of the English garden. The Garden Room has a corner fireplace, a Queen sized bed, and a patio overlooking the English garden. The Hideaway Room has two queen beds and a private deck. The Gingerbread Room is wheelchair accessible and has a Queen sized bed.

The Gingerbread Mansion Inn provides a hot breakfast made from scratch daily from 8am to 10am. Coffee and tea service begins at 7:15am in the library. Complimentary high tea and wine are available daily from 4pm to 6pm. Guests can savor beverages in the English garden with delicacies composed by chefs. For other meals, a gift certificate is provided for Angelina Woodfired Kitchen.

Guests can relax by the fireplace or soak in a claw foot bathtub. The Inn provides access to several activities: hiking in Humboldt Redwoods State Park, exploring the Victorian Village of Ferndale, and visiting the Humboldt Bay Wildlife Refuge. Nearby attractions include the Avenue of the Giants and the Lost Coast. Camp Weott Guide Services offers boat tours of the Eel River Estuary. Lost Coast Adventure Tours provides hiking, biking, and canoeing trips. The Humboldt County Fair and Horse Race takes place every August. Mother whales travel close to land in April and May.

The Gingerbread Mansion Inn is in the Victorian Village of Ferndale, near the historic Main Street District with art galleries and antique shops. The Inn is surrounded by Humboldt Redwoods State Park and is the northern gateway to the King Range National Conservation Area, known as the Lost Coast. Ferndale is 60 km from Arcata-Eureka.

The Gingerbread Mansion Inn offers handmade chocolates, seasonal flowers, and wine glasses. Romance packages are available.
