Guests can play tennis on over 300 courts on Hilton Head Island or enjoy fishing, crabbing, and bicycle rentals (adult, child, or adult-child tandem bicycles with fat tires) with complimentary helmets, locks, and baskets. Recreational activities include basketball, bocce ball, pool, putting green, table tennis, and shuffleboard. Surfmen's Station has an air-conditioned lounge with a large-screen TV, fireplace, indoor game tables, and furniture. Big Murggie's Den in The Live Oak Lodge includes a pool table, fireplace, and antiques. There is also a 24-hour exercise room.

Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort is located on the coast of South Carolina, 10 km from Hilton Head. The resort is across from Shelter Cove Harbour, with a marina, restaurants, and boutiques. The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, with a 350-seat pavilion, art galleries, and workshops, is nearby. The Coastal Discovery Museum and Harbour Town, which hosts a PGA Tour event and has a lighthouse, are also in proximity. Guests can access Disney's Beach House on 3.5 acres of Atlantic Ocean beachfront via a 5-minute drive, the complimentary shuttle, or the 1.25-mile bike path.
