“The Art Deco Masonic Hotel stands as a vibrant piece of Napier's early 20th-century character, an iconic fixture overlooking the Pacific. I appreciate that beyond the central location near attractions like the Art Deco Centre and Marine Parade, the hotel offers distinct dining experiences with its Japanese and globally inspired restaurants. For me, the appeal lies in its blend of historical architecture and curated experiences like wine tastings, promising a stay that's both elegant and culturally rich.”

The hotel features a great balcony where you can enjoy drinks and observe the waterfront views. The staff was helpful . The building has distinctive architecture, and the room had fun decor. The location is ideal, right in the central business district.
Access was a bit difficult with luggage due to the entrance stairs.

grubby shower curtain limited amenities
The room i had was a bit of a letdown. the shower curtain felt unclean. it had this sort of sticky residue that wasn't pleasant. The bathroom really needs some improvements, and the carpet looked quite old and could use a deep clean. It just didn't feel as fresh as it should be. also, getting to the room with luggage was hard since i had to carry it up the stairs. there was only one luggage trolley available.

elevator noise small bathroom
I was honestly a bit let down by a few things. our room was right next to the elevator, and it was quite noisy. i could hear it going up and down at all hours. also, the bathroom was surprisingly small. There wasn't much counter space, a real inconvenience.
