The Chamberlain, London
About the Hotel
Rooms: Comfort and Style
The Chamberlain features Deluxe Superior rooms with super-king size beds. Only four rooms offer private outdoor terraces overlooking the city. Rooms are equipped with ironing facilities, heating, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, a mini-bar, a bathroom telephone, free toiletries, an electric kettle, an AM/FM alarm clock, a flat-screen TV, and carpeted floors. Deluxe rooms include U.K. king-size beds with 1600 pocket-sprung mattresses and city views.
Dining: Globally-Inspired Menu
The Chamberlain's menu features dishes made from scratch using fresh, locally-sourced produce. Menu choices include London Porter Smoked Salmon from Gloucestershire's Severn & Wye Smokery, and Turkey reared in the Usk Valley in Monmouthshire. The hotel also offers a selection of craft lagers, seasonal ales, ciders, spirits, artisan soft drinks, and exclusive wines. A small Batch Craft Lager is hand-crafted over 42 days.
Events and Entertainment
The Chambers is a cocktail bar located underneath The Chamberlain Hotel in the Minories area. The Chamberlain's downstairs bar and private meeting room are available for events. If you drive towards Tower Bridge and turn off on Queen Elizabeth Street, you can find Shad Thames, a neighborhood for taking photos.
Location: City Access
The Chamberlain is near the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the 'Gherkin', the river, and St Katharine Docks. Aldgate station is north of the hotel, and Tower Hill station is south on Trinity Square. Fenchurch Street Station is close by. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from London Liverpool Street, and a 5-minute walk from both Tower Hill and Tower Gateway. The City of London, with headquarters of companies such as Unilever, is nearby. The Tower of London houses the Crown Jewels. Dutch gables on the roof, pilasters and square-paned windows are identifying features of Edwardian architecture visible on the exterior of the hotel.
Hotel Services
The Chamberlain stems from the ancient office of The Chamberlain of the City of London, dating back to at least 1237. The present-day Minories street is part of the A1211 road between Whitechapel and Barbican.
