Guests consistently appreciate the Hyatt Regency Birmingham's convenient location near the canal area and its proximity to the ICC, accessible via a private bridge. The king rooms are often described as spacious, with comfortable beds and good views, and the pool and jacuzzi are heated, adding to the appeal. While some guests have found the bathrooms a little dated, the generous room sizes and amenities generally provide good value.

Excellent Hotel Experience

hot disheshelpful staffpastry selectionwarm atmosphere
The breakfast was excellent. Hot dishes were served at appropriate temperatures, and I also ordered poached eggs from the kitchen upon arrival, they were the best. A good selection of juices, cereals, and pastries was available. The hotel staff were consistently warm and helpful.
Cleanliness was slightly disappointing, as I noticed a stain in front of the toilet and a few yellow stains on both the carpet and curtains.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel design displayed attention to detail, especially in the hallways with lighting, it made moving around seamless. Staff were friendly from the check-in desk to the breakfast service team. A parking area was located on site adding convenience.
Location
10/10
This hotel has a great location. The hotel sits directly next to the canalside, with many restaurants and bars. It is also a short walk to the Utilita Arena, the ICC (International Convention Centre), and the train station.
Rooms
9/10
My room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom fixtures. Hallway lighting was also nicely implemented (I noticed this in other areas of the hotel too). The provided toiletries were of good quality for daily use.
Dining
9/10
The breakfast buffet offered a perfect start to the day with a variety of options. I particularly enjoyed happy hour at the executive lounge on my floor (very convenient). The berry smoothie during the breakfast service is definitely recommended.

The breakfast offered a very good choice of items.
The room felt quite dated. I noticed scratched wooden surfaces. Stains marred the carpet, giving the space a worn feel. I also discovered that the hotel charged an £80 deposit to my card without informing me beforehand. It was a nasty surprise.

Solid Stay

nice viewhelpful staffgood breakfastmodern equipment
View from our King Room was nice. Staff helped with directions to local spots. Breakfast had good options. I also found the hotel gym had up-to-date equipment. It had three treadmills and several weight machines. The pool area included about twenty loungers. There was a shaded section available too.
I did have to wait longer than expected sometimes.
