I have visited over 50 countries so i believe i have sufficient experience to objectively evaluate this hotel hotel is very outdated, especially the rooms do feel ancient since the complementary tapwater they provide had aftertaste of vomit we had to buy evian, which by the way costs €7 a bottle, and to add injury to insult they've run out pretty quickly so we couldn't buy it even at outrageous price restaurant selection, narrow. we effectively ate in the same place repeatedly because alternative reservations were offered at 9pm with the serenity of a court ruling, no earlier times possible. we reviewed other menus. They read like a love letter to the deep fryer and the wok. if your culinary philosophy is 'everything should be fried or stir-fried,' you'll feel seen food poisoning, sadly real. my wife spent the last three days of the stay in a triad of misery-stomach pain, nausea, and the sort of fatigue that makes you reconsider your life choices, including the choice to be there beaches, two options, neither particularly photogenic. north and south both had water that skewed yellow rather than the blue, crystalline fantasy implied by most resort marketing departments. not 'maldives postcard,' more 'mildly suspicious broth. ' service consistency was... theoretical. some staff were perfectly decent, but others had a talent for making simple requests age like cheap suit, slowly, and in the wrong direction. several requests were delayed, and a few evaporated into the administrative ether-requiring repeat follow-ups like an unwanted hobby checkout credibility issues. our evening flight made a late checkout logical. It was refused by a manager (a heavyset white gentleman) citing 'fully booked. if there's a more elegant word than 'lying,' it escapes me hidden fees at checkout. you'll eventually learn that prices operate on a two-layer system, the number you saw, and the number you pay after assorted add-ons materialize. we also witnessed multiple loud checkout arguments from other guests-suggesting our disenchantment was not an exclusive experience no air-conditioned dinner option. in the evening, when you're already exhausted from the day's heat, there was essentially nowhere to eat in cool comfort-so you just keep sweating through dinner, in stale, airless humidity and now the pros, +the territory is very expansive and lush full of greenery. the villas are evenly stretched out along the space. very quiet and relaxed. we were never bothered by any noises or loud music. +some staff were excellent. the helios team stood out, as did a helpful manager (an indian gentleman-not the aforementioned one), the barman at adam & eve, and the cooking ladies at the main restaurant. when they were warm, they were sincerely warm-human, attentive, and competent. + food quality was good-if you choose carefully. delicious, yes. Varied, not especially. also, a little discernment is advisable, some salad leaves looked tired, and i wouldn't personally gamble on the fresh fish again. + medical response was prompt and professional. the doctor arrived quickly, handled the situation properly, provided the necessary medicine-and notably, the hotel did not charge for the visit. that was both decent and appreciated. +the spa as quite good, i got quality massages (costs €140).
