Acceptable Stay, But Issues Need Addressing

The breakfast was fine.
The smell of stale cooking oil permeated the hallways, REALLY making it unpleasant to walk to my room. My room faced the back, so the view was not great. All I saw was scaffolding. I also noticed some stains on the carpet, which didn't help the overall feeling of cleanliness.

i found the room was clean and tidy. it had no frills but provided a functional space with a shower. the bar was clean, and i saw a good selection of beers available.
the hotel seemed ready for an update, especially in the bathroom. i did notice lovely big windows, they included good blackout blinds. i saw a nice view of the town.
