“The hotel presents a curious blend of grand aspirations and practical shortcomings. I'm struck by the prime location in Harrogate, mere steps from the high street and central attractions, though the rooms themselves seem to vary in quality. The historic ballroom and themed dining nights add a layer of unique charm that might appeal to those seeking character over consistent luxury.”

hard mattress slow service
I found some issues with my stay. the mattress was unyielding. It seemed like sleeping on a board. i requested a mattress topper, but it never arrived. the bar service was also lacking. it took a very long time to get a drink one evening. It was frustrating.

The room was very clean and quite spacious. The bathroom featured nice, clean facilities. Staff members were very friendly. They offered helpful assistance. I found the lounge and bar area largewith a relaxing atmosphere.
The floorboards in the hallways creaked audibly, allowing me to hear other guests coming and going.

friendly staff breakfast service executive breakfast dirty carpet crumb build-up broken dispenser
The staff at the breakfast was really good. Lawrence was friendly. He provided service. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The executive breakfast was also delicious.
The room has a carpet that was sloppily vacuumed. I see dust and crumb build up in corners. I found suspicious brown splash up the wall to the ceiling. The soap dispenser in my room was broken.

The room needed updating, and the floorboards in the corridor creaked all night. It sounded like someone was walking in the room!

the location proved convenient.
The staff seemed preoccupied. Obtaining extra pillows took over three hours after i had asked. dinner reservations were also a hassle. arriving fifteen minutes early resulted in being denied entry. the entire hotel had squeaky floorboards. The building felt very dull.
