Rooms: Unique Features
23 Mayfield offers rooms with solid, hand-carved mahogany furniture and artwork from the 1740s. Select rooms include a super king-size bed configurable as twins (request when booking). Grand Tudor rooms feature a king bed, one to three single beds, a mini fridge, a Nintendo Wii, and a telescope with views of Arthur's Seat. All rooms include free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, Roberts Bluetooth music systems, and Noble Isle toiletries. Bathrooms feature heated mirrors and raindrop showers.
Breakfast: Local Ingredients
Breakfast includes a full Scottish spread with local produce. Guests can enjoy Aberdeen Angus beef, fresh seafood, and haggis. The dining room features a period ceiling, slate walls, and stained glass windows. The menu includes marshmallow pancakes, porridge with whisky, and a take on the Egg McMuffin. Options include Scottish pancakes, Belgian waffles, and brioche French toast. Champagne breakfast is available upon request.
Leisure: Club Room
Guests have access to the Rathbone Club room lounge. The lounge includes authentically worn leather sofas near a fireplace, an honesty bar, and a library. 23 Mayfield is in Newington, a residential area in southern Edinburgh, near Salisbury Crags at the foot of Arthur's Seat. Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh Castle, the Scottish Parliament, and Princes Street are within one mile. The University of Edinburgh, Pollock Halls, Kings Buildings, and the Royal Observatory are nearby. Bus routes 3, 31, 69, and 80 connect to Waverley Station, approximately a 10-minute journey.
