historic charm with modern comforts
four poster bed comfortable gardens
I found the four poster bed in my double room very comfortable (it felt so luxurious). breakfast was first class, with a good variety. i especially enjoyed the beautiful gardens with fine views. the staff were accommodating with my late arrival. I checked in at 11pm.
i found that the room could not be locked from the inside (this was unsettling).

Solid stay with historic charm
beautiful grounds excellent staff perfect breakfast good signposting
The grounds were lovely. A morning walk was refreshing. Our party had a celebration with great food and excellent staff. Every guest complimented their rooms and the breakfast, perfect. Public areas were nicely presented and the signposting was GOOD.

My room was rustic with tall ceilings and large wooden beams. It featured skylights and a big tv. The bathroom had a heated floor and the bed was large AND comfortable.

The breakfast included WAS very good with lots of choices. The evening bar meal offered good value for money. Draft beer seemed well tended. I recommend it.

Staff were professional and customer service was excellent. They loved their job, it showed. Staff were very friendly AND helpful. That makes a difference. The team was amazing, so helpful, and ensured everything ran smoothly.

I found the staff super helpful. The building and grounds are special. I really enjoyed the dining room, food, and drinks. We loved the food. The cooked breakfast was freshly made. We enjoyed the gardens. The wooded area provided pleasant shade.

tiny tv constant buzzing
The room was basic. marks and stains covered the walls. I guess people threw tea bags in the bin. the tv was tiny and faced the wrong way, so it was hard to watch. worst of all, a constant buzzing came from the over-mirror light. It was awful. the eating experience disappointed. I booked a table, got shown to the boardroom with another couple, and then we were forgotten for 36 minutes! i even checked justeat. We didn't see staff. soup was ok, but the bread roll was frozen and soggy. the veggie option was egg and chips, costing £17, madness.
