underwhelming stay, some issues present

The staff were friendly enough. It was expected at this price point.
the room felt quite outdated, and some areas needed better maintenance. i found a musty smell that i couldn't get rid of and the bathroom fixtures seemed old? the pool was smaller than it looked in the pictures.

Really good Dining and Attentive Service

The staff were very attentive. They left fruit, chocolates, and biscuits in the room daily. The hotel had a great location in a quiet area up in the hills. It was excellent for walks. I saw cute monkey families from my balcony. The dining room service impressed me every evening. The food was of great quality.
The pool lacked upkeep during the day. It had leaves floating around. The infinity pool no longer has views due to overgrown bushes. There were few deck chairs. The area felt crowded when multiple rooms used it.

The restaurant presented excellent Sri Lankan cuisine. I found the fresh ingredients notable. The iconic Sri Lankan rice and 17 curries menu impressed me. The avocado ice cream, per the restaurant manager's recommendation, was quite good.

The staff accommodated special requests regarding spice levels. They prepared dishes suitable for our preferences. The staff assisted with directions and local information. The hotel even helped us to find accommodation for our driver.

The staff displayed AMAZING hospitality, even providing a manager's fridge for our needs. Our superior ground floor room balcony offered lovely views, i loved the cleanliness. I also liked the food, JUST delicious! The hotel location allowed easy access to nearby areas.

Our room featured a private balcony that gave mountain views, it was relaxing. The bathroom included essential amenities, for example, toiletries and fresh towels. The bed provided comfort for restful sleep, i slept SO well.

Breakfast included local Sri Lankan dishes, and western options were ALSO available. The restaurant prepared meals with fresh ingredients, and the spices enhanced flavor. Presentation of each dish demonstrated attention to detail. I liked THAT.

underwhelming stay at theva

poor cleanlinessunhelpful staff
the cleanliness lacked standards. the pool area was particularly affected. when i tried to arrange excursions, the staff seemed unhelpful. this hampered my ability to explore the surrounding areas.
