fantastic stay!
river view comfy bed nearby shops
the room had a balcony and the views faced the river. the views were very nice. i enjoyed the comfy bed so much. i was able to walk to shops nearby
the lift button to go down sometimes didn't work!

the restaurant provided excellent dishes, equal to what i find in new zealand's better hotel kitchens. my dinner was first rate. the restaurant had a great ambience and made the food even better

i found the location to be superb for easily walking around shops. it was an easy walk to the train station for the tranz alpine express. the hotel had a lift and i loved the spacious room

the staff offered really good service. they were very accommodating and attentive especially when i had dinner. staff made sure we didn't need to wait to check in. they had extra staff on when the train arrived

Decent but Problematic Stay
shared balcony broken lift
The room was clean, and the bed proved very comfortable.
The balcony was shared. This arrangement became awkward when neighbors overheard a private conversation. The hotel lacked proper soundproofing, reducing privacy significantly. the lift button for going down was not working.
