The Lostwood National Wildlife Refuge is located 20 miles from Stanley, renowned for birding opportunities. Stanley is home to a golf course, bowling alley, swimming pool, theater, parks, historical sites and restaurants. Tobacco Gardens Resort and Marina is in Lake Sakakawea and the Missouri River System.
