Zanzibar, also known as Unguja Island, is part of the United Republic of Tanzania, located about 35 km off the mainland coast. The island's highest point is 150 meters above sea level. From Dar es Salaam, you can take a local flight (Precision air, Coastal, or ZanAir) or a ferry to the island.
