Kandahar Lodge at Whitefish Mountain Resort provides rooms with microwaves, small refrigerators, coffee makers, air conditioning, and down comforters. The rooms offer views of the garden. The Lodge Room options include 22 rooms with choices of either two queen beds (19 rooms) or one queen bed and a full sleeper sofa (3 rooms). The Studio Rooms feature a combined bedroom, kitchen, and living area, equipped with dishes, a stove, an oven, a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink (10 studios, each with one queen bed and one full sofa sleeper, rates start at $159/night). The Lofts Rooms are located on the third floor with upstairs areas and include leather club chairs, a wooden chest, and a desk (10 Lodge Lofts, 5 with three queen beds, 4 with two queen beds and most have 1 single sofa sleeper and 1 unit has 2 queen beds and 1 day bed). The Kitchen Lofts also located on the third floor, provide a sleeping loft with a kitchen/dining/living area, comfortable sofas, wooden chests, desks, dining tables and beds with down comforters and fur blankets. The Executive Suite, located on the first floor, features a large sunken living room below the kitchen/dining area, a sitting area, a master bedroom with a king bed, a second bedroom with two queen beds, a third bedroom with one queen bed, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The Two Room Lodge Suite combines a Lodge Room with a Studio Room with adjoining doors, offering a kitchen, a second small refrigerator and microwave, leather club chairs, wooden chests, desks, dining tables, down comforters with fur blankets, a stove, an oven, a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink (10 suites, 3 queen beds and 1 full sofa sleeper, plus two full baths). The Garret Room includes ski decor, a bench and hangers for storage, a small refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, a bistro table with two chairs, a down comforter with fur blanket, air conditioning and a small TV mounted on the wall.
Guests can enjoy meals at Café Kandahar, an upscale restaurant, or at Buchanan's at Kandahar Lodge, a chop house and whisky bar. The Café has an extensive wine list. The east side of the Lobby functions as a continental breakfast area with choices such as hard boiled eggs, a meat and cheese tray, fresh fruits, pastries, muffins, cereals, juices, coffees, and oatmeal. The Snug Bar offers expanded take-out options and a seasonally changing appetizer and taps menu. The onsite bar serves a limited menu from Café Kandahar. For group events, Chef Andy Blanton will create a menu based on your desires and budget.
The Wellness Center has a large outdoor Jacuzzi with heated outdoor entry, heated flooring, and spacious restrooms. Guests can unwind in the steam room located on the first level. The fitness center is equipped with a large screen TV, cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, a bosu ball, and a yoga mat. Massage on the Mountain offers therapeutic massage treatments.
Kandahar Lodge is located at Whitefish Mountain Resort, 7 miles from Whitefish and 35 km from Glacier Park International. In winter, it offers a ski-in location via Hailey's Run. Guests can walk across the parking lot to ski down to Chair 6, or use the lodge's van to the lift plaza. During ski season, shuttles run several times daily between Whitefish and Whitefish Mountain Resort. The free snow bus to and from downtown is a short walk up the hill to the village area.
Kandahar Lodge provides complimentary wireless internet, daily housekeeping, and a continental breakfast served in the lobby. The east side of the Lobby functions as the continental breakfast area for guests and can be used as a dance floor with a DJ or musician positioned on the landing above. It is available as a venue for small company holiday parties and events. Cocktail parties can be held in a private lounge with a small bar area. For corporate events, the Northern Lights Conference Room (800 square feet) accommodates 30-50 people, and the Board Room (250 square feet) seats 15 people. The lodge can be rented out for exclusive use for wedding parties in the spring and fall.
