The Highfield enjoys a superb location just a short walk from both the town center and Derwent Water, offering convenient access to Keswick's attractions. Guests often compliment the spacious rooms and the plentiful, nicely cooked breakfast with both continental and Cumbrian fried options. Some guests have noted that the views from the West Turret room may be partially obstructed by trees. The hotel also provides parking behind the building, adding to the convenience.

rubbery eggs hard bed
I was somewhat frustrated with the inconsistent breakfast quality. The eggs tasted rubbery, like they were preheated instead of fresh. The bed was also quite hard, I found it really uncomfortable. It affected my sleep during the 3 nights I stayed. The afternoon cake was a sticky, wet flapjack. It wasn't as good as I remembered from a previous visit. The location was perfect though.

The breakfast offered an amazing view. An honesty bar was always available. The hotel features a lovely garden space. I found the room to be very clean. The bed was comfortable. The complimentary afternoon tea and homemade cake were nice touches.
