Hôtel De L'Amphithéâtre consists of 2 mansions dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The rooms feature furniture and include a flat-screen TV with Canal+ satellite channels, free Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. Each room includes a private bathroom. Some rooms offer a view of the Place du Marché, with a fountain representing the town's symbols of a palm-tree and a crocodile. Room options include: rooms with double beds (140cm-180cm), rooms with single beds, and a superior room for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) with a sofa bed.
Breakfast: Sweet and Savoury
A breakfast buffet is available each morning. The buffet includes cereals, bread, pastries, fruit juices, cold cuts, various cheeses, fresh fruit salad, seasonal fruits, nuts, yoghurts, cream cheese, homemade jam and bio honey. A list of restaurants serving the hotel is available at the reception. At the hotel, a selection of coffees, cappuccinos, macchiatos, and teas are available, as well as refreshments, to be enjoyed in the lounge or in your room. Many restaurants and bars are located nearby, indulge yourself with the terraces of the Place du Marché or the historic Brasseries in front of the Arènes.
Things To Do
Nîmes has over 2000 years of history. Exceptional sites that are wonderfully preserved open the gates of its Roman magnificence. Hôtel de l'Amphithéâtre is a 10-minute walk from the Roman amphitheatre. From Arles, where you can visit many Roman archaeological ruins, to Aigues Morte, a town with fortified walls. Go on a detour to Saintes Marie de la Mer, Grau du Roi, Port Camargue and La Grande Motte so you can discover the pleasures of bathing in the Mediterranean Sea. Visit Uzès, known for its Saturday-morning market, essential to discover all the regional products. Pont du Gard is the monumental section of an aqueduct that is approximately 30 miles long, which brings the water from the Fountain of Eure, located at the feet of Uzès, to the Roman village of Nemausus, today known as Nîmes. Take the small steam train that goes between Anduze and Saint-Jean-du-Gard.
Location and Access
Hôtel De L'Amphithéâtre is located 50 yards from the Amphitheatre in Nîmes. Nîmes train station is a 10-minute walk from the Roman amphitheatre and therefore also of Hôtel de l'Amphithéâtre. Nîmes-Arles-Camargue Airport is located 9 miles outside of Nîmes. There is a shuttle bus service to the train station that takes approximately 25 minutes. Ticket prices: 6€ (purchase on the bus). Garons is 15 km away.
Hotel Services
The hotel staff are at your disposal from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm. Upon request, your luggage can be deposited in your room in advance or kept in a secure storage area before your departure. Daily room cleaning unless otherwise requested. At a minimum, linens will be replaced every 3 days. Soft mobility: 10 minutes walk from the hotel, the Vélo Tango area, located at the SNCF train station, offers environmentally friendly transportation alternatives. A small selection of souvenirs and local products are available at the hotel.
