underwhelming stay
dated room poor breakfast
The room felt quite dated. i saw that the television, kettle, and phone all ran off a single extension lead. It felt a bit precarious. the breakfast was not great. i got a hard poached egg, and i even got served just half a slice of black pudding, which really surprised me. it reminded me of extreme cost-cutting.

I appreciated the large and comfortable room. The hotel provided plenty of parking spaces. Dan was particularly helpful (he provided great service).

Absolutely fantastic stay!
excellent chef helpful staff amazing meal
I must say, the receptionist team was excellent, so kind and very helpful! The bar and restaurant staff were very helpful too. The meals are amazing. They have an excellent chef. I would definitely recommend this place, excellent indeed!
It would have been useful to know that major refurbishment was affecting the hotel. Perhaps a sign directing people to the temporary entrance is needed.

a romantic getaway!
amazing breakfast continental food spacious room accommodating staff
the breakfast was amazing!!! i loved the wide selection of continental food with fresh pastries, and a menu of hot options with eggs benedict and pancakes. our "beautiful double room bath" was spacious and clean. the staff were pretty good too, being patient and accommodating to our needs.

the building is beautiful with period architecture. they were undergoing a revamp and decoration at the time of my stay. the employees were polite, friendly, and very professional.

a reasonably okay stay
comfortable bed friendly staff noisy heater short supply
the beds are comfortable. i have stayed here for a few months once a week, it is just what i need. the staff are friendly too. i feel welcomed always.
the room was cold. we got a room heater when we complained, but it was noisy so we could not leave it on long. the coffee supplies were short, with just one hot chocolate for two people. it feels a bit mean.

the hotel is in a handy location. i observed very attentive staff. the personnel provided good offerings in the restaurant and bar.
my room was very basic , i noticed no pictures on the walls. the white paint looked plain , but the cracked gloss was distracting. the bathroom was poor , especially the taps clogged with calcium.
