Volkshotel has standard rooms, special creations, and studios. Room options include sleeping pods (5m2) with a double bed and shared shower/toilet, small rooms (12m2) with a double bed and private bathroom, medium rooms (18m2) with a double bed and private bathroom, and twin rooms with two single beds and a private bathroom. Studios feature a double bed, kitchenette, living area with a sofa, and a private bathroom. Some rooms on the upper floors offer views of Amsterdam, and some include air conditioning and a minibar. Rooms have concrete floors.
Dining and drinks
Volkshotel offers Canvas, a restaurant on the 7th floor that turns into a dance floor on Friday and Saturday nights. Werkplaats on the ground floor provides quick breakfast options, coffee, smoothies, poke bowls, and burgers. Chun Café, located in The 9 Streets, provides Asian specialties. A breakfast buffet is available at Canvas from 7:00-10:30 on weekdays and 8:00-11:30 on weekends (€16, €10 for kids up to 10 years old).
Leisure facilities
Badplaats, on the 8th floor, includes a sauna and hot tubs. The hotel features live music, exhibitions, and cultural events. Guests can rent Volkshotel bikes for €14 on the first day and €10 on subsequent days. Guests can get haircuts on Fridays from 3:00-9:00pm in Werkplaats. Volkshotel includes a mini cinema.
Location and Transportation
Volkshotel is located in Oost, Amsterdam, near the Amstel river, De Pijp neighborhood, and Waterloo Square. The hotel is near the Wibautstraat metro station (lines 51, 53, 54). From Amsterdam Central Station, take Metro line 51, 53 or 54 and get out at 'Wibautstraat'. The hotel provides private outdoor parking for €25 per 24 hours. Taxi from Schiphol Airport costs approximately €40-€50. Volkshotel is located near a highway exit.
Hotel services
Volkshotel's Wi-Fi is free. A co-working space is available. Private meeting cabins for 4-8 people can be booked for €45 or €65 per hour. The hotel welcomes pets (max 2) for an additional €20 fee per night. Luggage storage is available. The Volks Card gift card can be used at every location in Volkshotel. The instructions of Volkshotel staff must be followed at all times.
