Rooms and Suites
Mission Point features guest rooms and suites across two buildings: the Main Lodge and the Straits Lodge. The Main Lodge provides access to resort activities, meeting spaces, restaurants, and shops. The Straits Lodge offers family and dog-friendly rooms near downtown. Room options include Main Lodge Queen (200 square feet), Main Lodge Double, Lake View King with partial Lake Huron views, Family Suites (sleeps up to 6) with king and double beds, Junior Suite King with sleeper sofa, Huron Suite (550 square feet) overlooking Lake Huron, and oversized suites like the Patrick Sinclair Suite and Hunt Suite with soaking tubs. The Maritime Suite has a patio, while the Tranquility Suite offers a private patio overlooking Lake Huron. The Presidential Suite (1,200 square feet) features a private balcony, kitchenette, and dining room. Straits Lodge rooms include Doubles, Kings with views of the Straits of Mackinac, Family Suites with twin beds, Hot Tub Junior Suites with private patios, the Mackinac Rock Suite with a kitchenette, the Round Island Suite with views of Round Island and Lake Huron, the Michigan Suite (800 square feet) with partial Lake Huron views, and the Bois Blanc Suite (1,500 square feet) with a full kitchen and laundry.
Dining Options
Mission Point offers designed culinary adventures at six restaurants and eateries. Options include farm-to-ferry dining with seasonal sampling of the region's bounty. There are two coffee shops: Boxwood Coffeeshop & Café in the Main Lodge Marketplace, offering to-go items like specialty coffees, teas, beer, wine, snacks, ice cream, and breakfast and lunch options, and Strait UP Coffee in the Straits Lodge east lobby. A Cocktail Herb Garden next to Chianti provides fresh herbs for cocktails and dishes. Kids under 12 eat free from the kid's menu at Round Island Kitchen and Bistro on The Greens, with the purchase of an adult main meal.
Leisure and Entertainment
Guests can enjoy a variety of activities across 18 acres. The Mission Point Great Lawn is available for lounging, picnics, and stargazing. There is an 18-hole putting course with bentgrass greens and views of the Straits of Mackinac, plus bike rentals for all ages. Admiral Dave's Arcade, next to the Promenade Deck pavilion, offers games. Complimentary Garden Tours, led by the Grounds Manager, are available. The Promenade Deck pavilion features a rooftop terrace overlooking Great Lawn with lake views. Lakeside Spa & Salon offers services, including nail services, hair care and styling, massages, and facials. There is also a fitness center.
Location & Transportation
Mission Point is located on the sunrise side of Mackinac Island, approximately 0.75 miles from downtown Mackinac Island, a 15-minute walk from the Shepler's Ferry Dock. Nearby landmarks include Fort Mackinac (0.7 miles), Arch Rock (1 mile), and the Mackinac Island Butterfly House (0.2 miles). Transportation options include Shepler's Ferry, Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry, and air service via Pellston Regional (40 km away). A taxi to Mission Point can be arranged to meet you at the airport. Horse-drawn taxi service is available 24/7 during the summer. A Mackinac Island Carriage Tours shuttle services Mission Point.
Onsite Services
Mission Point provides luggage transfer to the hotel from the ferry docks. For lost items, guests can call (906) 847-3027. The hotel has recycling and composting programs, and partnerships with local farms to obtain produce. Dog-friendly rooms are available in the Straits Lodge, with treats and pet supplies available for purchase at the Mission Point Marketplace shops. A meditation station is available at Tranquility Point. Admission to Historic Downtown including a Mackinac Pass to explore the Biddle House, the Mackinac Island Native American Museum, the Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum, the American Fur Co. Store & Dr Beaumont Museum, Benjamin Blacksmith Shop, and McGulpin House.
