There is a bar menu served Monday - Saturday, 12pm-9pm and Sunday Lunch, every Sunday, 12pm - 6pm.

From Whickham is 3.8miles (approx 10 mins drive) via A6076. From Durham City Centre is 14.5 miles (approx 25 mins drive) via A1 or 11.3 miles (approx 25 mins drive) via B6532. Tanfield Railway is 2 km. Beamish Museum is 2.5 km. The Black Horse is set in the heart of wooded English countryside.
