white net curtains in the room were grey. woodwork around doorways in the room was damaged and sharp. the hotel broke my suitcase, laughed about it and denied all knowledge.

the original building showcases beautiful, high ceilings on every floor. it was built in 1910 and underwent a refurbishment in 2010. the lobby and bar area are lovely, with the latter feeling like a converted grand ballroom. i enjoyed a couple of good cocktails there.

unfortunately, i booked a ranch tour through reception. there was no english guide available, though it was assured there would be one. i was not informed i would need to pay at the ranch as i booked through the hotel.
