Rooms at Gyllene Hornet

Gyllene Hornet has 60 rooms in the main building and detached cottages. All rooms include complimentary Wi-Fi, a shower, a toilet, a telephone, and a flat-screen TV. The rooms are non-smoking. The main building offers rooms for one to four guests. Some double rooms connect via a door, which are suitable for families. Rooms for more than two guests have two regular beds and an extra fold-out bed. Persson's cottage has two 4-bed rooms and one double room, close to the playground. Elsa's wing features four standard double rooms where pets are allowed, each with a private outdoor entrance. There is also a family room for five guests on two floors, with a sofa bed downstairs and a double bed, a single bed, a toilet, and a shower upstairs. Leksandsstugan, in the courtyard, includes two separate standard double rooms with a private patio.

Dining at Gyllene Hornet

The in-house restaurant at Gyllene Hornet offers a breakfast buffet. From late June to mid-August, the restaurant serves a Swedish summer buffet. On Fridays, a Mediterranean buffet is available, and on Saturdays, an American buffet is offered. The Swedish buffet includes pickled herring, egg and anchovy salad, cured salmon, Västerbotten cheese pie, potato salad, wild meatballs in cream sauce, lemon and thyme-roasted chicken, and gratinated haddock. The Mediterranean buffet features tzatziki, tapenade, serrano ham, salami, marinated olives, Greek salad, gnocchi, and mushroom risotto. The American buffet includes Cajun seared salmon, whole roast beef, ribs and pulled pork, buffalo wings, potato gratin, Caesar salad, guacamole, and coleslaw. On selected days, dinner is served at Klockargården or Villa Långbers.

Leisure and Entertainment

Gyllene Hornet features a 20-meter indoor pool with views of Lake Siljan, sauna access, and a mini gym with a power plate, rowing machine, cross trainer, exercise bike, step up board, and free weights. A gymnasium is available for floorball, basketball, and other games. The Golden Hornet SPA offers facial treatments and lava stone massages. Two people can be treated in the spa at the same time. The hotel also has a boules court, a climbing platform with a slide, a playhouse, and a mini-golf course. Table tennis and a small pool table are in the basement. Hiking trails are nearby, and a map is available at reception.

Gyllene Hornet is located in Tällberg, 60 km from Mora. The hotel is near Leksand Golf Club and Rattviksbacken Ski Slope. Orsandbaden and Granberget are nearby. The Tällberg train station is about 1 km from the hotel. There are many parking spaces in the hotel area, including charging stations for electric cars.
