Rooms with volcano views
Earth Lodge features an A-Frame cabin for up to 3 guests, with one double bed and one single bed, a private bathroom with shower. El Sueco Tree House has two levels, each with a queen bed and double-height windows. All rooms offer views of the volcanos and mountains. Some rooms include a private entrance and a seating area. Free toiletries are provided.
Dining at Earth Lodge
Earth Lodge prepares artisan food items for the kitchen/bar and for sale in the gift shop. Baskets with locally sourced meats, cheeses, olives, nuts, chocolate, dried fruits, and sourdough are available. Earth Lodge is one of the safest places in Guatemala to eat raw foods.
Leisure and Activities
Earth Lodge provides options such as guided hikes, mountain bike excursions, fitness classes, ATV adventures, cacao ceremonies, and tortilla-making classes. Guests can participate in Mayan cacao ceremonies. PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic fields) therapy is available. A Temazcal, used by the Mayans, is present for spiritual cleansing. Guests choose spots on the property to soak up the sights and sounds of nature. There are acres of green spaces and lookout points for private picnics.
Location and access
Earth Lodge is 35 km from La Aurora. Transportation to and from Earth Lodge is included in tours. Tours include a visit to the Santa Maria de Jesus market at the base of Volcan de Agua. It's about 20 minutes from where you get dropped off in the village. Landmarks nearby include La Merced Church (3.5 km), ChocoMuseo (3.5 km), and The Plaza Central Park (3.5 km).
Available Services
Earth Lodge assists retreat and event leaders in creating customized experiences, including excursions and activities. All tours are led by local and professionally trained bilingual guides. Airport drop-off arrangements are available. Earth Lodge can arrange mountain bike guides. Live music is performed on Sundays. A couple is provided with an hourly wage, a furnished house with a kitchen and internet, a food stipend, cheap drinks, and a share of tips each month.
