The lake is surrounded by the Brecherspitz, the Jägerkamp, the Rotwand, and the Rosskopf. The high elevation means the cable car is fairly reliable in snowy weather. The SLYRS high-altitude storehouse is on the Stümpfling mountain. The district of Agatharied, where Amalie and Josef Lantenhammer founded their gentian distillery in 1928, is nearby.
