Al Lago has a location suitable for hiking, canoeing, cycling, and fishing. The 'Sierra de Grazalema' nature reserve offers hiking, painting, wildflowers, horse trails, bike paths, and birdwatching. Horseback trails are available for 2-4 hours daily along the lake or into the mountains. Guided walks and permissions can be booked to trek along the El Majacete river, through the Pinsapar woods, or into the Guarganta verde. Guests can visit woollen mills in Grazalema, leather fabricas in Ubrique, or the castle in Olvera, a short drive from Zahara. A large municipal pool with landscaped grounds, changing rooms, shower areas, and a bar/restaurant is available. Playita, a grass park bordering a spring-fed mini lake, is nearby.

Al Lago is in Zahara de la Sierra, located in the Grazalema protected parkland, 90 km from Jerez. The village is known for its goat bells and cheese. Nearby landmarks include Mirador "Puerto de los Acebuches" (4.5 km), Municipal Recreation Area Playita (3 km), Church of Santa Maria de la Mesa (1 km), La playita de Arroyomolinos (3 km), Sendero de Los Llanos de Rabel (4.5 km), Zahara-El Gastor Reservoir (2.5 km), and Mirador de Zahara de la Sierra (1 km). The world-famous fish market in Cadiz provides ingredients such as sushi-grade tuna, plump sardines, sea anemones, and razor clams.
